On November 10, the United Nations Social and Economic Council (ECOSOC) organized a webinar on reimagining cooperation on sport for persons with disabilities, leaving no one behind, and the representative of the DAT participated in the webinar.
Masoume Amedi, Director of International Relations of the Disability Association of Tavana, who participated in this webinar as the representative, said: "In 2016, we succeeded in getting the special consultative status of ECOSOC from the United Nations. And due to the consultative status, the DAT has participated in several meetings related to the disabled in Geneva. This year, the DAT will also participate in the UN webinars due to the spread of the corona virus.
Amedi continued: "Fortunately, the Disability Association of Tavana has worked hard in the field of sports for people with disabilities from very beginning of its establishment, and even during the time of Corona virus, the activities of this unit continue and it has held various educational webinars."
The representative of Disability Association of Tavana in the webinar said: Mr. "Amine Lamrabat", NGO and Outreach Coordinator at United Nations, and Ms. "Hanifa Mezoui", Permanent Representative of ECOSOC from the International Economic and Social Association and Civil Society Organizations in the UN, were the Webinar Moderator. The webinar lasted about two hours and various experts and ambassadors spoke about sports for people with disabilities in their countries.

Experiences of the Disability Association of Tavana in the field of sports

The representative of DAT in the webinar said: DAT's experiences in the field of sports were shared. One of the most important goals of the Disability Association of Tavana is to discuss talent identification and rehabilitation with the slogan "Disability is not the end of the road".
During the Corona, the Disability Association of Tavana has organized webinars and online training workshops with the aim of generalizing the knowledge of communities and people about the needs and activities of the disabled and acquainting the disabled with their material and spiritual rights and thinking of ways to remove their obstacles. DAT also bought a plot of land for the construction of a special sports complex for the disabled in the city of Qazvin (with priority given to hydrotherapy and taking advantage of the latest developments in the world).
The Disability Association of Tavana has produced video programs on various topics and published them in cyberspace under the title "Know and Know" in order to develop science and awareness and prevent secondary disabilities.
